Geek Dad Reviews BandFuse: Rock Legends

" I’m very impressed with this game. The combination of game play, low latency adapters, and flawless audio detection make this a lot more fun and a lot more educational than Rock Band , and a lot easier than Rocksmith . I never quite adapted to Rocksmith ‘s notation and always felt a little learning curve if I put the game down for a few days. With BandFuse the standard tablature was instantly readable and never confusing."

Worth Playing Review – ‘BandFuse: Rock Legends’

Rocksmith is a solid game and does a great job of teaching you how to play it, but that knowledge doesn't transfer outside of that particular franchise. Though Bandfuse has a higher learning curve because of its tablature note format, it prepares you to play the game and the stand-alone instrument. Bandfuse is easily the most successful approach to learning how to play a guitar, but it's also damn fun for guitarists of all skill levels.

Bio Gamer Girl – BandFuse Review

The game's multiplayer sessions are a blast, alongside its impressive Karaoke mode, which will keep you coming back and finding fun new ways to enjoy the game.

We didn’t review two of this year’s music games, as both projects have moved from classic game experiences to something more akin to music education software. Nonetheless, both BandFuse: Rock Legends and Rocksmith 2014 are fascinating projects, especially if you’ve been excited about an opportunity to learn guitar through an interactive method. I spent several days playing both games, and found both excelled at different elements. There are things to like in both titles, but they're surprisingly different in their approach to play and teaching. Here’s a rundown of what I discovered, and what I liked or didn’t like in each guitar game.
